Winter Wonderland

Just had some fun with the new sleigh template from CardMaking Paradise : it can be used as a stand alone card, a 3D card or a topper.

The challenge at The Stampman is : Emboss It, so this is perfect for the challenge.

I tore white paper to simulate snow drifts then covered the edges with white UTEE to look like snow, I love the way the UTEE made the edges curl, gave it dimension. For the sleigh I used Vintage Photo ink over embossed cream card for wood effect. For the body of the sleigh I used my Hougie board to add more lines to an embossed cream card, I was after creating a padded look to the body. I used PVA glue for the studs. The posts were made out of sticks from a well-known supermarket café (used for stirring tea) a Die-namics Fishtail die was used for the sentiment flags. Finished off with snowflakes.

Here is another use of the template!!

I covered some burgundy card with clear sticky back plastic to give a shiny metal look and cut the base card from this. I used Antique Linen Distress crackle paint for the body of the sleigh and then covered with Vintage photo ink. I was after an aged leather look. I cut the top trim from an antique gold card edged with Vintage Photo ink; the studs are PVA glue covered with Vintage Photo. I wanted an old brass look. I used a Die-namics Fishtail die for the tag. Finished off with acetate snowflakes.

Scrap Box 1

So I am on a mission to use all those sraps of card and paper I cannot throw away, so here is the first of my creations:

The challenge over at Just us Girls .... 163 is a colour palate: so I thought this would be perfect for this challenge.

I used Die-Namics dies throughout, the swirls and text are cut from a verdegree type paper and I love the way it changes in the light.

challenge 44.... make an embellishment

The challenge at PanPastels is to make an embellishment, so this is my entry:

The first embellishment I made was this tag made from a sticker and further embellished with lace and a button.

I love the way these hearts turned out, I hand cut 2 hearts, stamped onto one and added a button on the other, I then took a nail file and distressed them.

no. 25

I made this card for  friends 25th wedding anniversary:

the challenge at JUGS is to use numbers on your card, so this one fits right in.

The background was made by scrunching tissue paper and PVA glueing it to paper then silver embossing over it.

I loved using micro beads on the numbers and making the spiral flowers.

So I am really into making baby cards at the moment, I suppose it could have something to do with the 2 grandchildern I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of!!!

I am also into Die-namics Letter dies, so this is the card I came up with:

I love using dotty paper so it ties in well with the challenge over at Joanna Sheen. The scallop die is Spellbinder and letters are Die-namics.

I thought I would enter the challenge over at Fashionable Stamping challenge 29 Anything floral/handmade flowers, this is my card:

I love the simplicity to this card!! The flowers were made from dried baby wipes, cut into spirals & you know the rest. The wipes have a lovely soft feel when dried out!! The stamp is from Creative Expression.

The easel is a template found at CardMaking Paradise

Number 50

Sara has some great number templates over at CardMaking Paradise

This is a card I made using her number 50 template:

I used Flora Doodles paper, over stitched the zig zags, used spellbinder dies for the cut out & butterfly.  I loved the way this card turned out!!

Book Card

This is a very clever template Sara has come up with, you will find the template at CardMaking Paradise

This is the card I made:

I used Kanbans Rose & Dandelion stamp for the main image, embossed & decoupaged the roses, stamped the book with a script text.  For the cover I used distress inks.
Here is another card I made with the same template:
