Flourishes & Diamonds

The challenge over at MMM is .. Flourishes & Diamonds so this is my card I'm entering:

I've been having a lot of fun making scrunched up flowers!!  The background is Love Story script. I used Spellbinders Labels Twenty One & Twisted Metal Tags & Accents.  The topper stamp is Creative Expressions Flower Phrases. Also used was Tea Dye distress ink and not forgetting the diamonds!!!

LIM wk 56.. Don't Scrap it!!

So Don't Scrap it is the challenge at LIM. Still struggling to find the boundery of CAS, think I might have pushed it a bit far with this one but loved the way it turned out.
I sorted out all the bits of cream card & paper from my scrap boxes as I had a tone on tone idea.

All the elements except the base card and pearls came from my scrap boxes, even the poem which was rejected from and earlier project but was perfect for this one along with the bit of lace.

For the flowers I cut the paper into circles spritz with water and scrunched, left to dry then stuck together.  Spellbinders deis were used for the flourishes and pearls for detail. I love doing this style of card and making use of my bits n bobs!!

Vintage Romance

The theme for this week at MMM is... Victorian Romance wk 37, so this is my card:

I love doing this technique with paper, simply using your finger nails to curl and distress the edges!!  So I used Vintage Photo, Victorian Velvet and Old Paper distress inks.  The love poem is from Creative Expressions 'Flower Phrases'.  I dyed the lace with distress inks and glimmer mists, the pearls are cosmic shimmer glue. I created the flowers from Spellbinders scollop circles, inked them, sprayed with water and scrunched them, then left them to dry before sticking together.

Tagged Tied

So I was having a bit of a play with some tags I cut awhile ago from a Cuttle Bug mini tag die selection and this is what I came up with:

The challenge at LIM is Theme and the theme is: Die Cuts or Punches, so I thought this would fit in there. I used a leather effect card base, used a Spellbinders rectangle die to cut an apature in the centre.  I arranged the CB tags as you see and taped together at the back, I then joined together with fine wool and glued to the sides of the apature, to give reflection I placed silver mirror board to inside of the card, finished off with gems for detail and silver ink on edge of the card.

LIM wk 55 Theme

So the theme is Punches or Die Cuts so here we go: I used Creative Expressions 'Script' mask to emboss background, then cut topper from Spellbinders 'Twisted Metal Tags' embossed the inner pannel with Debbie Moore Copper embossing powder to make it stand out more.  The quote is from Kanban 'Rose & Dandelion', love that quote!! Finished off with flower punches and Cosmic Shimmer Glue.

Spring Butterflies

JUGS challenge 124 this wk is colour, so I had a bit of a play:

I really liked the sketch at SS wk195 so I incorporated this into my overall design.

So here's what I did: I used My Minds Eye 'Spring Papers' backing paper, love those soft colours, did faux stitching around all the edges as well as inking them , naturally!!  I over stamped the centre dotty pannel using a stamp from Kanban, I re stamped and cut out the butterflies, coloured them with my beloved Twinkling H2O's.  For the cetral border I used EK Success border punch and added the butterfly cutouts. I love the soft colours chosen by JUGS and combined with SS sketch I thought it worked well.
I will also enter this card into the CI Paints... Polka Dots challenge.

Masked Heart

Today I was playing about with masking tape, a great medium to use!!  So I placed some sequin waste on the tag and ran through my grand callibur, distress inked over it. I then added some modeling paste through the waste to give texture. I sprayed a paper doily with comic shimmer mist and water colour, love this texture!!  The heart was the real fun part, I cut out 2 hearts, covered one with torn masking  tape, inked with Victorian velvet distress ink, then clear embossing powder, love the way it turned out!! Used Love Story Script stamp for letter, finished off with paper beads, brad, gem and fibres.
I will be entering this tag into the following challenges: The Stamp Man.. Texture :Gingersnap Creations.. Masking Tape : TIOT Taggers... Hearts & Flowers :

Sealed with a Kiss

Ooo what fun I have had today playing with texture, I must say that this type of card has to be my favourite!!
So, for the background I srcumpled some tissue paper then stuck it to some pink card, to emphasize the creases I swiped over with Tea Dye distress ink. I cut two Anemone flowers from the background paper and placed maroon netting behind for detail and texture. I then added some lilac meshing on the top for added texture.
For the flowers I used Spellbinders Anemone Flower Topper, then ran it through a CB folder to add more texture, the flowers were cut from a coke tin, plastic drinks bottle and milk carton, inked with alcohol inks, finished with buttons.
The jigsaw piece I found this morning while clearing my mum-in-laws loft ( was up there for years!!) covered with ditress ink and Love Story Script, added some die cut hearts and words. Finally sealed it all with a embroidery thread kiss!!
I will enter this card into the following challenges: JUGS 123 use buttons : MMM wk36 Hearts & Flowers : The Stamp Man.. Texture : JS Love is in the AirCI Paints...Hearts

Green Flourish

Another card for the LIM wk54 One Layer with stripes challenge. I used Papermania textured card, with my Hougie board I embossed some stripes, to emphasize the stripes I did some paper piercing using my Tim Holtz ruler then sanded over the lines. I accented the Kanban stamp with Cosmic Shimmer glue and paper piercing.

Thinking of You

The challenge over at LIM is One Layer wk 54 having stripes on it, so I came up with this idea: I used a thin striped embossed cardstock, used my Hougie board to put a few deeper embossed lines on the bottom, I then did my favourite technique of wax crayon resist to highlight the stripes and covered 2/3 of the card with Old Paper & Spun Sugar distress inks, I was after a sunset effect. The stamps are Kanban Spring Garden.

Golden Masquerade

This is the latest template on offer at Cardmaking Paradise
I ran the mask through a C/B folder to emboss, inked all the edges with distress ink and ran gold ink along the bottom edge.  For the side and centre embellishments I used Spellbinders ‘Twisted Metal Accents’. I coloured the gems with Adriondack’s Copper mixative to blend in with the mask, then added feathers.
This is a real fun project to do.  I will be entering this mask into the Stamp Man Texture challenge.  I love adding texture to a project.

Triple Heart Easel card 2

This project you will find at Cardmaking Paradise. I will be entering this card into Joanna Sheens 'Love is in the Air' challenge as well as My Sheri crafts challenge.

I stamped the base with Marion Emberson’s ‘Love Story Script’, roughened all the edges with a blunt craft knife & rubbed with Fired Brick distress ink.  I then partial stamped Papermania ‘Nostalgia’ backing paper with ‘Love Story script’, roughened the edges of backing paper and embossed with ‘copper’ Heat It Up embossing powder.  I then cut out the roses from the backing paper and inked the edges with Vintage Photo.  I cut a heart shape out of maroon netting and placed under flowers and greeting. Added a heart brad for detail.
This card will fold flat for postage, a great one Sara!!

Triple Heart Easel Card

This a new template over at Cardmaking Paradise.  This is a clever design and so easy to cut out and make up.

I inked around all the edges with Tea Dye distress ink followed by Victorian Velvet, stamped & embossed with Copper ‘Heat It Up’ using Kanban ‘Rose & Butterfly’s’ stamp set, the image was painted with Victorian Velvet & Tea Dye distress inks.  I then masked off the image and re stamped using Old Paper distress ink, stamped the sentiment from the same set.  I placed brown skeleton leaves between layers and made a heart stopper.
I will be entering this card ionto Joanna Sheens 'Love is in the Air' challenge, also My Sheri crafts challenge and Ink on my Fingers challenge 'Heart on my Sleeve'.

Less is More wk 53 card 2

The 2nd card for the Less is More Aqua challenge is made up of Spellbinders Ironwork Motifs, a beautiful set of dies, I finished off with ribbon and a gem.

Lees is More wk 53

The challenge for this week at Less is More is the colour Aqua, I had a lot of fun using this colour.  I wanted to use ribbon, so used Tim Holtz ruler to mark out holes and threaded through like a bodice. I used Spellbinders Fancy Tags die for the sentiment.
