Vintage Green

I love playing vintage!! At  The Stamp Man they have a Bingo Card challenge:
I chose: Green, Circle, Ribbon

I wanted to do a vintage style card because over at Frilly & Funkie a brand new challenge blog their first challenge is: Your Favourite Vintage Style.  I am just getting into vintage so I would have to say I lean toward the Frilly side of vintage. Here is the card I will be submitting to The Stamp Man & Frilly & Funkie :

When I think of vintage I think of mutted distressed colours, pearls, lace and buttons.  So for this card I used Laura Ashley papers, Spellbinder dies, a doily covered with DI ( Vintage Photo and Pealed Paint), finished off with ribbon, pearls and buttons.  I had a lot of fun stitching on the card.

MMM wk 41.......Spring Card

So a Spring card is the challenge at MMM wk 41 I love these little cards, so different.
Here is my card:

The flowers were cut from backing paper using my new Marianne dies.  Butterflies were cut using EK Success border punch and Spellbinders. Added lace & buttons for a soft vintage look.

Dress Form

This has to be my favourite template from Cardmaking Paradise I loved using this template!!! Here is the card I made:

There is 3 variations of this dress form, this is how I made this one:
I covered a wood effect embossed card with Vintage Photo distress ink, pencilled in vital statistic lines then embossed with clear embossing powder.  I stamped a tape measure image onto bias binding using Andy Skinner ‘A Stitch In Time’. I coloured netting with Vintage Photo distress ink and stitched onto bottom of the form then added buttons. Lastly I made a necklace using sequins.
I have also used this template on a piece of altered art that I will post later.

LIM.. wk 59 Theme.... Masking

LIM wk 59 ... Theme... Masking   is the challenge this week and I feel more at home, in fact I had a lof of fun with this card as it was my second time using my brayer ( had it for months now!!)  I used Spice big & juicy and a sentiment from CE Flower Phrases. I cut a circle using spellbiners, inked inside it with Mustard Seed DI, then I masked over the sun and went over with the brayer then stamped my image on top, double mounted it and finished with a raffia flat bow.
Here is the card:

This is the first bit of brayering I did:

The lines are made tying thread around the brayer.

All paper and elements came from C&C Victorian Ladies & Butterflies Kit, the edges were all inked with Victorian Velvet.  I created the faux pearls with cosmic shimmer glue.  For the flowers on the box I cut circles of paper, scrunch up and spritz with water then scrunch and twist, allow to dry, then ink the edges and glue together.

TIOT... Wonders in Watercolour

There is a new challenge at TIOT ..... Wonders in Watercolours the sponsers for this week are
 one stop card crafts

here is my card:

I painted my Kanban Rose & Dandelion stamp with Twinkling H2o, spritzed with water before stamping, then coloured in the image with a waterbrush and got this lovely water colour effect.  the paper is a handmade paper type.  I used two Spellbinder dies for the frame and used Twisted Metal dies for the flourish. the backing paper was done in the same way, distressing with ny fingernail and edged with Fired Brick distress ink.

Silver Mask

This was a fun project from Cardmaking Paradise a great resource for all your templates!!
I will enter this mask into Gingersnap Creations challenge... two colours 140.  I used White & Silver.
The sponsers for this month are Rogue Redheads.

I glued a lace effect backing paper to the mask, edged the mask with silver ink, then glued braid around the edges.  I cut a butterfly from Spellbinders ‘Nested Butterflies Two’ from silver mirror card and velum, then cut in half and attached to each side using a silver jewelled brad.  For the centre I used ‘Ironworks Accents’ and attached with a jewelled brad, then added feathers.  All the small silver accents came from the butterfly’s wings. This mask always reminds me of a pussycat!!
This next one I think is my favourite!!

I sprayed  a doily with  Cosmic Shimmer, attached black netting behind the doily before attaching to mask, made flowers and added brads. Love the texture of this one!!

LIM wk 58.. One Layer...Script

This week at LIM.. wk 58 One Layer script is the theme. Out of all the LIM challenges, one layer is what I struggle with most. Mandi & Chrissie make it look so easy yet mine never look anything like theirs!!! it always looks like something is missing. Anyway this is what I came up with:

So I cut a Spellbinder die out and used it as a mask to stamp the script in, then over stamped with the flourish.  the flourish I was quite happy with, it was one of those happy accidents.  I didn't quite get it right first time so I stamped again and was a bit of the mark but it came out looking like a shadow, boost!! I then positioned the cut out die and brushed over the edge with distress ink to make it look like it had depth. I embossed the top flourish with clear embossing finishing with a few gems to lift it.

JUGS 127... Faux Embossing

Well over at just us girls 127-faux-embossing is the challenge this week, I would also like to enter this card into the kaboodledoodles challenge-110-show us some green and GinderSnaps Creation 139 Faux Technique they are  sponsered by Rogue Redhead Designs.

So here is the card I'm entering:

I used Spellbinders Lace Doily Motifs for the faux embossing, the topper was cut from the same set ( love that set!!) finished off with wired ribbon and Pealed Paint distress ink. Thank you for looking :)

MMM wk 40.. A Card for Mother

So we are making a card for mother over at MMM and this is my card:

This is the new project over at Cardmaking Paradise This is a fabulous template designed by Sara, it even comes with a box template to put it in, making it a perfect little gift!!  I loved the way this card springs up when you open the box. A very clever design Sara!!  (Sara says  "Help us to spread the word about Cardmaking Paradise. 10% of all membership fees go towards our new charity, Crafty Smiles, bringing crafts to children in Oncology Wards around the country.

I used Martha Stewart papers, cut the glittered flowers out for embellishments and used a bright green card for that spring feeling.

I got the image of the net, backing papers are Laura Ashley, Spellbinders dies covered with crackle paint ( though I think I should have made it thicker!!) it didn't turn out as I'd hoped but quite like the effect, looks like suede!  The pearls are cosmic shimmer glue, love that glue!! Oh and I used Love Story script stamp.  I had fun with this card :)
