This week the theme for MMM wk 46  is Birds (Theme.. Mens/Boys only)  Why not pop over and check out the challenge yourself!!     I loved the way this card turned out, so here it is:

The bird and background paper was from a Martha Stewart 12x12 paper pad. Again I used my fav Spellbinder Label 21 die, the florish and side detail are also Spellbinders.   I finished off with brads and twisted braid and raffia together.

RePurpose to UpCycle

UpCycling is the challenge over at Frilly and Funkie the challenge is to use at least 2 repurposed items, so this is the card I came up with:

the upcycled items I used are; dried wet wipes, cardboard, brown packing paper, foil from butter pack and shop labels shown here:

I embossed the brown paper using a CE mask, made cardboard and wet wipe roses, idea came from here I covered the labels with the backing of the cardboard and stretched the wet wipe to reveal it's fibres.  The butterfly is from the whiskey package and butter foil. The leaves are a Spellbinder die.  DI used were Vintage Photo and Old Paper.

The sentiment is from CE 'Flower Phrases', finished off with a button and raffia.

I will also enter this card into PanPastel's add a flower challenge, check out the prize on offer:

The Stamp Man... Shabby Chic/Distressed

Shabby Chic/Distressed is the challenge at The Stamp Man this fortnight so I thought I would enter this Arched Screen I have made for my challenge swap over at CardMaking Paradise  here is the screen:

I was after a shabby vintage look. The backing paper is from my stash, the stamps used are Andy Skinner 'A Stich in Time'. I did a lot of stitching on this project, such fun!!

The dress form is a template from CardMaking Paradise covered with some leftover lace from my daughters wedding dress.  I stamped onto vellum to tie in with the dressmaking theme, added buttons and odd bits of lace. the fake pearls are Cosmic Shimmer glue.

For the back I tore the backing paper off cardboard, covered the paper with Picket Fence distress stain, then with Victorian Velvet DI, it gave a lovely distressed looking wood effect. I then made a box, the template for the box again is from CardMaking Paradise this box template is the best I have ever used, I adapted the size to suit my needs, so easy to do with this template!!

The Stamp Man....Vellum

Yes Vellum is the challenge at The Stamp Man this week.  I love the translucent nature of vellum.
Here is the card I made:

I cut into some leftover backing paper and raised the front using foam pads. I stamped onto the vellum using Aspects of Design Great Aunts Correrespondence and Shipped Script ( background vellum) fiished off with cosmic shimmer glue and glitter along with a peg to hold letters together.

I made another card using vellum:

The vellum lace was cut from Spellbinders border dies.

MMM GDT card wk44.... Vintage

So this is the second week I'm the guest designer for MMM this week the challenge is... Vintage, I love vintage, so here is the card I made for the GDT:

So if it's vintage & men, then for me it has to be old cars!!  The images were taken off the net, I printed off the old newspapers from a Joanna Sheen ATC CD, I embossed a Spellbinder die with CE mask of cogs and used Vintage Photo DI to age everything enen the orange braid.

LIM wk 61... Lucky Dip

The LIM wk 61 is Lucky Dip and they have a picture inspiration:
Here is the card I made for my daughters 6th wedding anniversary, she is a fan of CAS.

The lighting is not very good tonight but it's a beautiful shade of pink!!  I used a Marrianne Design die embossed with white UTEE, added green gem brads and made the sentiment banner.  I loved the way the UTEE curved the die giving it dimension.
This is the picture inspiration for the colours:
