Golden Masquerade

This is the latest template on offer at Cardmaking Paradise.

I ran themask through a C/B folder to emboss, inked all the edges with distress ink andran gold ink along the bottom edge. Forthe side and centre embellishments I used Spellbinders ‘Twisted Metal Accents’.I coloured the gems with Adriondack’s Copper mixative to blend in with themask, then added feathers.

This is a real fun project to do. I will be entering this mask into the Stamp Man Texture challenge. I love adding texture to a project.

Another take on the Saturday Sketch wk 193 challenge. Used Love Story script stamp, cut stripes out of a Spellbinders border dieand added flowers.

Antique Love

Had an idea to give an antique look to this card, stamped background with Love Story script, stamped rose ( kanban 'Rose & Dandelion' set) with Twinkling H2O, made flowers with Spellbinders dies and tore black ribbon to give aged effect.. I love the way this card turned out. I will be entering this card into the sketch Saturday challenge 193 also the Try it on a Tuesday challenge True Love and Make my Monday wk 35 challenge. thanks for looking.

Thought I would have a go and see if I could be somewhat arty!! Well I had a lot of fun playing with the things I love, since this is the theme for the Craft Barn 'Filled With Love' challenge. Since I love all things papercrafty that is what I filled my hearts with eg. resist techniques ( wax crayon), spellbinders, colour, textures and fibres. a great afternoons play.

Aqua Spellbinders

After my playing with the colour Aqua yesterday, I had a dried wet wipe lying on my desk coloured with aqua ink, so I could not let this go to waste, so decided to make a flower with it, inspired by Anne on our forum. To make it pop I cut the same flower, Spellbinders Anemone Flower Topper die, out of a chocolate wrapper. These spellbinders dies make it easier to do 'less is more', they can stand alone!!

This will be my final entry into the Less is More colour Aqua challenge. Loved using this colour!!

Triple Heart Easel card 2

This project you will find at Cardmaking Paradise. I will be entering this card into Joanna Sheens 'Love is in the Air' challenge as well as My Sheri crafts challenge.

I stampedthe base with Marion Emberson’s ‘Love Story Script’, roughened all the edgeswith a blunt craft knife & rubbed with Fired Brick distress ink. I then partial stamped Papermania ‘Nostalgia’backing paper with ‘Love Story script’, roughened the edges of backing paperand embossed with ‘copper’ Heat It Up embossing powder. I then cut out the roses from the backingpaper and inked the edges with Vintage Photo. I cut a heart shape out of maroon netting and placed under flowers andgreeting. Added a heart brad for detail.

This card will fold flat for postage, a great one Sara!!

Triple Heart Easel Card

This a new template over at Cardmaking Paradise. This is a clever design and so easy to cut out and make up.

I inkedaround all the edges with Tea Dye distress ink followed by Victorian Velvet,stamped & embossed with Copper ‘Heat It Up’ using Kanban ‘Rose & Butterfly’s’stamp set, the image was painted with Victorian Velvet & Tea Dye distressinks. I then masked off the image and restamped using Old Paper distress ink, stamped the sentiment from the sameset. I placed brown skeleton leavesbetween layers and made a heart stopper.

I will be entering this card ionto Joanna Sheens 'Love is in the Air' challenge, also My Sheri crafts challenge and Ink on my Fingers challenge 'Heart on my Sleeve'.

The challenge for this week at Less is More is the colour Aqua, I had a lot of fun using this colour. I wanted to use ribbon, so used Tim Holtz ruler to mark out holes and threaded through like a bodice. I used Spellbinders Fancy Tags die for the sentiment.

I made this scrapbook to celebrate my daughters engagement. Ilove to decorate the covers, you can give it real depth so long as you have a box big enough!!!

Loved the look of this challenge, it turned out harder than I thought to go minimalistic!! I used a Martha Stewart border punch and Spellbinders Nested Butterfly Two. I have a stash of apature cards not knowing what to do with them, now I know!!! The challenge is on Less is More

Tag Challengs 2

Decided to do another tag for the Craft Barn Tag challenge. I used TwinklingH2o's for the background: Lemon Grass, Wine & Roses and Apple Blossom. I ran the tag through a CB folder to emboss then did a wax crayon resist technique over the top. I was aiming for a split-complimentary relationship on the colour wheel. I added some sequin waste and braid for texture and finihed with some paper beads I made and ribbon. I loved these bright zingy colours.

I love the colour combination of the first card. I was aiming for a distressed look. I started with making the tag and built the card around it, tore a page from a paperback and inked it. Colour distressed the raffia to match.

Tag Challenge

Saw this challenge on the Craft Barn site & also to use red on The Stamp Man so thought I would have a go and this is what I came up with:

I went for the Triad combination on the colour wheel and chose: Fired Brick, Scattered Straw and Chipped Sapphire distress inks.I used black stazon for the rose and letters, also coloured the heart charm in black stazon. I love the vibrancy of the Fired Brick!! I had a lot of fun making this tag.

I love this card. I was playing with my photo programme and this is what I came up with.

My first kiddy card, decoupaged robot, placed photo of Harry inside card.

Made for a dog lover, the family pet!!

Made this for my daughters 3rd anniversary, used leather hearts on the front. Love this fold!!

Made this for my mother, her favorite colours. Saw the oragami butterfly done on
U-Tube. Made matching bookmark.

This was my first go at stamping and embossing. I just loved it!!!

I loved using distressed inks with this card, gives such a great effect, think it has to be my favorite technique so far!!

Jigsaw Charm Swap

Well it's been a busy few months, so I think it's time to show you the results of the 'Jigsaw Charm' swap I took part in with the ladies from the 'Time for Crafting' forum.

The challenge was to change 8 pieces of small jigsaw puzzle to be used on a bracelet. I had such good fun doing this challenge and I learned alot.

Altered art... first go!!

I'm taking part in a 'jigsaw charm' challenge and my experiments took me in to 'altered art'. This piece was one of my successes that I decided to turn into a necklace and keep, it was inspired by this link http://alteredartandstuff.wordpress.com/page/2/

I know I need more practice but it was such fun!!!

The technique used is ' image transfer'.
I used a magazine print and fine wire and beads, you must give it a go!!!

It is a tradition in scotland, that if the younger daughter is married before the older, then the older wears a green garter!!

The flower theme was 'Rose & Thistle'. The thistles & heather was picked from our village & dried.

Of all the floral elements I made, the wedding bouquet had to be my favorite as it came together in just 2hrs.

In the begining

Well here we are at the begining and I thought I would start with the most fun I have had in a year, that was 3yrs ago now. It was the busiest year I can remember and here is why.....

Dressmaking was a real passion of mine, but I never thought I would end up making a wedding dress!!! so it was a real pleasure making my daughters, though I don't think I will be in a hurry to make another!!

Of course it was not just the wedding dress that was needed, there was also the bridesmaid and the 4 flower girls dresses, along with the bouquets and flower balls.
